It is known for it's color when the fruits are fully ripen then the dark red apples changed their color to reddish black. The Arkansas Black apple has very crisp flesh, coarse, greenish-white, sharp flavor, improving with age. It is not recommended to eat the fruit from the tree, it requires storage (typically 90 days) before eating the fruit. It is a good choice for making pies, pastries or cooking. This tree matures to 12-15ft tall and 8-10ft wide. It can be pollinated through many other apple varieties.
