Kiefer Pear is one of the cold hardy, very easy to grow and heavy bearer. It blooms white flowers in mid spring followed by really large yellowish/golden green with a hint of red on the skin, oval shaped fruits. The flesh is white, crisp and juicy that makes it perfect for eating fresh or for canning, baking, preserves. It is self-fertile and having another same kind next to it will produce heavier crop. Fruits will be ready to harvest in September to October. Annually pruning is essential to maintain the health, shape and to ensure good yield of the crop. Plant it in full sun and well-drained soil. It matures to 15-25ft tall and 10-20ft wide.
