Peach Contender Plant
Peach Contender Plant
Peach Contender is one of the cold-hardy peaches. It blooms in mid spring with pinkish white fragrant flowers that followed by medium to large size yellow orange/red with the hint of red peaches. The flesh is firm, bright yellow, sweet juicy and freestone (flesh separates easily from the seed). The fruit is perfect for fresh eating, storage or freezing. It is self-fertile but having another same kind next to it will produce heavier crop. Fruits will be ready to harvest in mid-late August. Annually pruning is essential to maintain the health, shape and to ensure good yield of the crop. Plant it in full sun and well-drained soil. It matures to 12-15ft tall and wide.
